My first article as gone live on @scribehound_ctr! An introductory piece discussing some of the ideological underpinnings of the countryside that Labour have abandoned. Looking forward to some high-level debate about the future of our country!.

The government food plan involves undercutting domestic production with American imports (and then get growth with an IHT-driven firesale of land). America is not our friend, and nor is Trump looking after his own farmers! Dangerous hot air.

Good article on navigating the complexities of 'regen' and the difficulties of finding (or creating!) good agricultural science when the government don't provide it for us .

The fruits of scrutiny by @SaveBritishFood. Hopefully the USA trade deal can be stopped and domestic food production safeguarded.
It is deeply alarming that these significant changes are being nodded through without any parliamentary scrutiny. This cannot be allowed to happen. MPs must be given the final say to defend our country's precious food, farming & animal welfare standards.

Why bypass the democratic process when you have a huge majority? Very concerning.
It’s monstrous that @Keir_Starmer is forcing USA hormone fed beef and chlorinated chicken on us, using sovereign powers while promising a Brexit reset. It’s peak dishonesty. Far worse than party gate.

Exactly. I don't mean to offend people by attacking however they might deem it best to run their own businesses . But there is difference between what farms have to do as they enter 'survival mode' and what the government's policy should be. The two are often conflated.
@OliFletcher @RBoldan @SoilAssociation @wearefoodrise Yet again. There’s a huge difference between farming practices discussion on individual farms and farming policy of nations. Eg for individual farmers is a business supposed to make money. For the nation farming should employ the least possible people and make cheapest food. 1/2.

Brilliant article, absolute must-read if you have a minute.
@OliFletcher @Jes_Squirrell I wrote this three years ago in @TheCriticMag. G Monbiot hated it. I suppose history is uncomfortable for some/many.

In this quote, @SoilAssociation have added 'hu' to 'man' to appear inclusive. while actively whitewashing and promoting blood-and-soil fascism. Nutrition, not soil, is key to health. Howard was wrong, as was (and is) the organicist politics he legitimised

Is the @SoilAssociation racist? Perhaps a little. Is it a vehicle designed to preserve fascism post-war that continues to re-write history to serve the ideology of its founders? Undeniably. My thoughts on an interesting article by @wearefoodrise 👇.

Just had a chat with my agronomist who says his company is not allowed at @Groundswellaguk, despite undertaking trials, R&D and promoting science-backed biologicals to release nutritents and reduce Nitrogen use. This is because its a 'chemical company.'.

Northern Ireland's alignment with EU fairness rules could protect farmers from IHT costs. Could Europe also protect us from unfair trade agreements with the USA and India?. A blinder from @LizWebsterSBF, weaponising Brexit against Westminster .

This is the Americanisation of British food. Deregulate to America's standards, and let it all flow in. .
Last week, a new law removed legal protections for chickens. Those legal protections prevented them being handled by the legs, which causes significant welfare issues. This change is as shocking as it is disappointing. Rather than enforcing the law that already exists, the

This is important but we must not overlook the immediate threat a UK-US trade deal poses to our industry and British food standards.
Thank you to @POTUS @realDonaldTrump for his comments on farms, and for highlighting the importance of the ability to inherit. His support in this regard to US farmers is strong. @PressSec we would be glad to meet with you to discuss pre Sept visit.

About the sum of it. .
@OliFletcher @Groundswellaguk The govt was looking for an excuse to stop bps, and regen handed them the excuse on a plate. no govt research was done at all that I saw and now we have no bps and no sfi while Europe gives more grant in a policy reversal and Britain gives it's ag.mkt to the USA.

To me, @Groundswellaguk was an elitist blob of antiscientific ideas that undermines what evidence-based regen ag could be. It normalises the neomalthusian idea that 'feeding the world' was wrong. Far from being progressive, Groundswell is very scary .
