Cabliers is just full of surprises!
An incredibly rich area of Leiopathes and the densest field of Anthomastus ever observed in the Mediterranean. The near-pristine nature of Cabliers FRA never stops surprising! @ICMCSIC @CSICdivulga @UN_FAO_GFCM @OceanaEurope @_EMEPC_ #marine #biodiversity #coral #reefs

Had a great time at @isdsc8 with the @AzoresDeepSea team! Lots of incredible and inspiring work presented from all over the world! Thanks to the organisers!
Last week, several members of our group attended the 8th International Symposium on Deep-Sea Corals @isdsc8 in Edinburgh. Here’s a thread on some of the work that was presented during the symposium ⬇️

Delighted to have been involved in organising and running the photogrammetry workshop. And to present the work I'm undertaking at @AzoresDeepSea @OkeanosUac Thanks for a wonderful #GeoHab @GeoHab23
Happy to be part of that great team @Oceanic_Dave, Vincent, Isabel, Alexandre who ran the photogrammetry workshop @GeoHab23. We provided expertise from theory, survey design, practicals to 70 attendees. Big thank to @iAtlanticEU and @VeerleHuvenne who funded my stay in La Réunion

Day 5 of the @eurofleets iMAR cruise 2022 left us on a high after discovering a massive garden of Narella corals on the SE side of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge within the Azores. We'll need artificial intelligence algorithms to get all these corals annotated... @iAtlanticEU @NIOZatSea

This is an animation by Dr Tabitha Pearman and myself, focusing on a submarine canyon on the edge of the European continental shelf. Tides drive large internal waves which interact with the canyon …
