Today I tabled Lydia's Law, legislation that seeks to bring accountability & transparency to the handling of sexual assault cases in ON. In 2022, there were 1,326 cases of SA withdrawn or stayed before trial. These survivors deserve to have their day in court. #Bill189 #onpoli

“Victims, and families who support them, they are losing faith in the justice system”. In 2022, there were 1,326 cases of sexual assault withdrawn or stayed before trial. This is not justice. @CREVAWC @LukesPlace1 @SASCWR

Thank you @kernaghant & @jennkfrench🙌 The 48 victim services providers across Ont repeatedly highlight to govt the lack of sustainable funding & the negative impact this will have on already vulnerable victims. We provide 24/7 support. Proper funding is needed. #ONpoli #GBV #IPV
