All children are our children. Stop starving Gaza! Women & children are 67% of all deaths in Gaza in what the UN Rapporteur calls “femicide-genocide”. UK government is complicit in this horror. @againstrape

Online survey about children’s human rights in Children’s Social Care. We’re saying the most fundamental human right of a child to be with their mum is breached every time a child goes into “care”, is adopted or forced to live with an abusive father.
committees.parliament.uk
Out of nearly 12 million children living in England, over 400,000 are in the social care system at any one time. Out of these, nearly 84,000 children in England are “in care” (i.e. being looked after...

This is really shocking: 1/3 of mums who died during,or in the year after pregnancy were known to children’s social care & almost 2/3 of women who died had experienced domestic abuse before or during pregnancy. They needed support, but got punished instead
communitycare.co.uk
By Kirsty Kitchen, Birth Companions New research published in the journal BMJ Medicine shows a third of women who died during, or in the year after, pregnancy from 2014-22 were known to children’s...

Over 80% of children’s homes are run privately for huge profits, 25% of all foster placements in England are also privatised. Our children must not be used to make money this way!

Sign this petition against the Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill which would increase state monitoring by introducing a “consistent identifier” (a number) for each child from birth – as if children belong to the state not with their mother & families.
petition.parliament.uk
We urge the government not to introduce a single unique identifier number for children and increased regulation of home education. We think its proposals would infringe on children’s privacy and...

We’ve joined calls for the immediate withdrawal of Fabricated Induced Illness (FII) label & associated guidance because it is junk science.Protective mums get falsely accused when we ask for help & face the injustice & heart break of children being taken.

BBC report noted that of 1400 children who were raped/abused in Rotherham: “One third were known to children’s services because of child protection & neglect”. How many were actually in "care"? At best Social Services did nothing to protect the children, at worst were complicit.
Finally it's exposed. Police also raped child victims in Rotherham. In 2014 we asked Parliament: "What is the relationship between officers & perpetrators? What did police gain by not arresting them? Were they paid or afforded favours?" There was no reply.

Finally! Recognition that poverty is why so many children are in "care", & that giving families money instead of £millions to private companies would be better - especially for mums & children! Vote in link to show support for ADCS president @WardellR proposal #CareIncomeNow.

What is @jessphillips doing to ensure the government she is part of abolishes "presumption of contact"? Fine words are not enough, mums & children need action - NOW. What's the point of women MPs if they don't defend the most vulnerable women? @AgainstRape.
We agree with Minister, @jessphillips: no abusive parent should have automatic access to their child. So why hasn’t the government changed the law? Why is the pro-contact culture still putting children at risk? @MoJGovUK.

It's a relief to see coverage which is respectful & acknowledges Constance Marten's pain, when most press coverage is sensational & nasty. If Constance had been offered support by social services rather than the forced removal of her baby, Victoria would likely be alive today.
Constance Marten needed support - not separation and prosecution. The verdict ignored a problematic social services system quick to condemn, vilify, and discriminate against mothers, & a case likely riddled with prejudice. With comment from @NotSeparation.

We are devastated by the guilty verdicts in Constance Marten’s trial. This is a gross miscarriage of justice: the jury was not allowed to know about the injustices Ms Marten faced when her children were removed by the family court. See our Press Release
