The Dems in control of Memphis have virtually no power. The state continues to take away cities’ rights to govern themselves. We cannot make regulations on guns. The legislature took that right away. The legislature also keeps passing extreme gun laws which exacerbates crime.

Finally, the lack of intervention programs in schools is a huge driver. I’m a teacher. I’ve seen kids expelled with no sort of interventions and they end up wandering the streets committing crime all day. That’s on us for not trying to intervene and simply throwing away kids.

Depends. Many MSCS schools are falling apart. Other districts (with better funding bc of socioeconomics) have pristine schools. Some public schools in Germantown look like college campuses. We need good schools in every neighborhood.
