So lesson learned? Preliminary work is very important but you won't truly know unless you evaluate your products. Knowledge translation tools/programs/etc must be evaluated and iterated to truly lead to benefits :)

Why? Well, "we aren't always the ones cooking for our households," they said. "We cater home-made food or my mother/in-laws drop off food for us regularly."

But....upon evaluation I learned that participants LOVED looking at the recipes and photographs. But not a single person actually made any of the recommended dishes!

The most surprising lesson learned? As I was developing/piloting the graphic toolkit, I heard MANY times that we should include healthy recipes. So, I included a beautiful series of photographs and step-by-step guides for three South Asian-inspired meals.

Did it work? It was a pilot study with 20 pregnant people. But we demonstrated feasibility, acceptability, and great retention with two practices in Peel! The package of tools show promise too!

The tool was created to be double-facing: 1) a tri-component package for patients consisting of a "teaser" clinic video, a graphic toolkit, and a reminder magnet; and 2) an info postcard (+adaptable scripts) for family docs
