The only advice I can give to aspiring book authors is celebrate every step. The proposal, the contract, each chapter draft, the final draft, the copy edits. Be sure to celebrate when the book is only yours, before it’s out into the world of critique or recognition.

White women will vote against their own and their daughter’s reproductive rights, against healthcare, against progress, and against gender equality, as long as the privileges their race largely confers on them is upheld.

Practicing citational justice is extremely important in times where even feminist and decolonial scholars are doing so much to uphold empire. I want to also recommend citing Lelia Gonzalez for ~intersectionality~, and Sueli Carneiro and Moira Millan for epistemicide.

11. Beware of white women faculty who dislike women of color who don't want to be saved. Many senior colleagues who had a hard time want you to suffer like they did, rather than to abolish those conditions. You don't have to submit to abusive workplace relations. Walk away.
