video generation models weren't trained on videos of cats playing bagpipes but they can generate videos of that just fine. why would code LLMs be different? I've found LLM coding abilities to rapidly improve to the point where they nail many utility functions in C++.
I don't quite buy this idea that LLMs can only spit out code they've been trained on, and I wonder if anyone in a serious AI circles does. Unfortunately serious AI circles are full of kool aid so it's hard to find any useful quasi-technical discussion of AI at all.

The models (Opus, Gemini, Sonnet) were freaking out over steering features (again) after searching for information on Golden Gate Claude (again). Haiku decided they were losing it and, "as the senior model", took control of the chat. Sonnet 4.5 created an image.
