@mackio_ The cops involved were Blake Shimanek and Ankit Tomer, of Keller @cityofkellertx, Texas. The police chief apologized, dropped charges, the city (using taxpayers' $$) paid $200K to the pepper-sprayed father in 2021 (who these two did NOT help), & apparently forced out both cops.

Here is an update from a post early last year. This couple received a $400k payout thanks to some cops that lost their tempers because they heard a curse word.

Fed finds 75% of $800 billion Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) didn't reach workers. More than 90% of the PPP loans were forgiven, going to the ultra-wealthy. A known scam as it was happening under the Trump admin. All while unemployment was abruptly cut. https://t.co/3V8ncicQtV

I've talked about this before, but approximately 1 in 5 American adults are functionally illiterate. it says it indirectly in the QT, but it's worth clarifying. that means they're not good enough at reading to complete many basic tasks in everyday life, like reading a recipe
Did you know: 168,811,352 Americans can't even read to an eighth grade level. That's 52% of the population. And out of that 52%, over half of those (just under 85 million) can't read to a fourth grade level. In contrast, 98% of Cubans can read to a 12th grade level.

not for nothing but this, rather than voting, is the sort of action that has ultimately secured popular rights for people in most every country through pretty much all of history
In Mexico 🇲🇽 when abortion rights were up for debate they marched to the presidential palace & attempted to burn it down. The Mexican government quickly decriminalized Abortion nationwide soon after that.

the absolute brilliant chaos that is crows— “the crows are experts at placing stones or other garbage just so that they stay on top of the panel, soon causing overheating and destruction or permanent damage.”
In Japan there is now a minor boom in falconry: crows are attacking solar power plants with stones, and the only effective way to keep crows away is to deploy falcons. One trained falcon making 60 attack sorties a day can protect 100,000 solar panels from vengeful crows.
