An advantage of knowledge-rich curricula over skills-based ones that I haven't seen discussed much is with the former students can see they are making progress—they know things they formerly didn't. When students see they are making progress they are more likely to invest effort.

"True learning happens through awareness, not effort." Sorry, but this is nonsense. 5 year olds don't learn to read by being 'aware' of letter/sound correspondences. They have to work damn hard at it and this is the message we should be sending to kids: a lot of things in life

True learning happens through awareness, not effort. When you observe without judgment, your body and mind adjust naturally. No criticism. No mental coaching. Just clarity.
