I’m thrilled to join the faculty @WakeForest School of Law as a tenure track assistant professor of law starting this fall! I’ll be teaching Constitutional Law, Election Law, and related subjects. It’s an honor to join such a warm community of teacher-scholars and students!

The damage being done by ALL officers won’t disappear when federal agents leave. MPD will be left with the fallout of deeper mistrust & broken trust. This is why #DCStatehood matters. We should decide how we’re policed, now we are left to pick up the pieces.
At some point, D.C. residents and visitors will stop knowing which police officers are which, and that could profoundly shape their views of the MPD officers who will remain long after the federal officers leave.

Really rattled about the situation at DC Union Station. Was not taking it seriously enough while driving toward it all day. It’s a full on military checkpoint where people going by are grabbed at random by armed troops.

To those who say a call for DC statehood is politically naive during this time, I commend the words of Frederick Douglass, a great Washingtonian in his later years: “Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never has, and it never will.”

you can believe that: -"crime is down" is objectively true -crime is still too high in DC & more can and should be done to address it -it does not rise to the level of a national emergency -this sets a dangerous precedent
The DC reporters who keep pushing the “crime is down” line are doing a disservice to the people of DC and are only doing it because they are obsessed with taking digs at Trump. There have been almost 1,600 violent crimes and over 15,000 total crimes, including over 10K thefts.

Stop arguing over crime statistics. Even if DC was in the grip of some sort of crime wave, these actions would still be brazen and authoritarian. These are emergency powers. There is no emergency.

Fed. government already controls prosecutions, corrections, and probation for those charged w/ crimes in DC, yet Trump acts as if the local government carries all the blame. DC must gain control of its criminal justice system. Unbelievable that Judge Pirro is DC’s US Attorney.

These men like Hegseth have NEVER been the most qualified. This is why they have discriminated to eliminate competition. The number and percentage of under qualified whites in positions FAR exceeds the number and percentage of minorities who lack qualifications for their job.

The least qualified defense secretary of modern times has the nerve to talk about others. We must stop letting these “privileged mediocres” or “discrimination hires” advance the narrative that simply b/c one isn’t white and has a job, then they are unqualified.

We really need a time requirement btwn the budget draft drop & each of the two votes. Thank you @CMFrumin for raising this just now & thank you @CMCHenderson for writing an amendment to this effect. It is in the community's best interest to have 48 hrs to truly engage in budget!
