TIL about mass casualty lightning strikes. Interesting to think about how to balance personal safety in dangerous conditions while delivering needed medical care.

"I marveled at the [ER], [a place] of bright lights and dark hallways, a place so quiet and yet so throbbing with life. I marveled at. how all of us had converged in these hallowed halls for a chance to reveal our wounds, to offer up our hurt and our pain to be eased." #books

Really enjoying Diagnosis on @Netflix! @nytimes and Dr. Lisa Sanders do an excellent job of capturing the uncertainty and pain of having an undiagnosed medical condition and explore a powerful way to crowdsource answers for these patients. Highly recommend!

In this @JofHSB study of psychiatric patients' experiences, Vale and Good's participants describe trusting their doctors DESPITE their professionalism. Rather, emotional engagement, providing holistic care, and admitting limits of medical expertise were crucial to building trust.

Saw someone describe this podcast as uncomfortable. I agree. It IS uncomfortable, but it is also NECESSARY that this reporting and these conversations are happening. #NiceWhiteParents.

Highly recommend @britrbennett's The Vanishing Half, a captivating story about twins whose paths diverge in young adulthood. I couldn't put it down, and I'm absolutely thrilled this will be an @HBO limited series! Thanks @PodSaveAmerica for the recommendation!
