look maybe as like a Hard/Insane mode difficulty a game can remove 'obvious intractable object' markers but it's either these diegetic markers or "survival vision" that makes stuff glow. In an action game I'd prefer to know what I can and can't interact with quickly.

the problem IMHO is usually that writers for token characters tend to not be the identity in question. As such they're afraid of giving them a personality that might be influenced by their negative understanding of those identities.

1) Their movies are all uniformly gorgeous and beautiful looking.
2) A lot of them feel aimless and meandering. I sometimes feel like they use their slice of life elements as a crutch to avoid proper resolutions than to write a cohesive story.
