Assembly Republicans overwhelmingly rejected this judicial redistricting legislation. As GOP Leader @WillABarclay notes in the op-ed, "There was no meaningful consultation with judges, administrators or bar associations. Most importantly, there was no ability for public input.".
The unilateral restructuring of New York’s judicial system is a dangerous attack on the balance of power that constructs our democracy. Partisan politics should not influence judicial independence, fair process and public trust in judicial neutrality.

The property tax cap, an idea that originated from the Assembly Republican Conference, has saved New Yorkers millions since its enactment. However, property owners still pay among the highest taxes in the nation & Albany must continue to seek ways to further reduce that burden.
