New York voters approved the Independent Redistricting Commission to draw electoral maps. But now Kathy Hochul is “tired” of it. Little things like the will of the people & Constitution are so inconvenient to NY Democrats pretending to care about democracy.

.@GovKathyHochul says she wants to change NY independent redistricting process -- and is OK with it being nakedly partisan.“I'm tired of fighting this fight with my hand tied behind my back. Republicans take over the Legislature? They can have at it. Until then, we're in charge".

School district officials from around the state have been sounding the alarm on the electric school bus mandate for years. Our conference has joined them and echoed those concerns at the Capitol. It’s unrealistic, unaffordable and unreliable.

Rural Adirondack school districts say New York's 2027 electric school bus mandate is unaffordable due to infrastructure gaps, long routes, and $500K per bus costs.

Assembly Republicans overwhelmingly rejected this judicial redistricting legislation. As GOP Leader @WillABarclay notes in the op-ed, "There was no meaningful consultation with judges, administrators or bar associations. Most importantly, there was no ability for public input.".

The unilateral restructuring of New York’s judicial system is a dangerous attack on the balance of power that constructs our democracy. Partisan politics should not influence judicial independence, fair process and public trust in judicial neutrality.

Democrats in New York are more focused on what federal law enforcement officers wear while doing their job than the actual criminals who are committing brazen, violent attacks against those officers. Common sense must prevail.

The property tax cap, an idea that originated from the Assembly Republican Conference, has saved New Yorkers millions since its enactment. However, property owners still pay among the highest taxes in the nation & Albany must continue to seek ways to further reduce that burden.

Raise the Age was sold as a way to help turn young lives around, but as Assemblyman Chludzinski noted recently:. “instead it has created a revolving door for juvenile offenders who steal cars, endanger lives and face little to no consequences.”.

Assemblyman Patrick Chludzinski advocated for a bill that would give law enforcement and the courts more flexibility in doling out stiffer punishments for 16- and 17-year-olds.

It’s no coincidence that businesses and residents continue to seek more affordable places to call home. New Yorkers pay some of the highest tax rates in the country. All to feed Democrats’ reckless, out-of-control spending agenda.
