Today, we stood together for the dignified transfer of Chief Chaplain Rabbi Alvin Kass. For nearly 60 years, his faith, wisdom, and compassion guided generations of officers and New Yorkers. He served this city with unwavering devotion. May his memory be a blessing.

As the sun goes down, risks on our streets go up. Drivers’ vision can drop tenfold at nightfall and earlier sunsets means more commuting at dark. Drivers: Slow down, look for pedestrians and cyclists, and turn at 5 MPH Pedestrians: Use crosswalks and watch for turning vehicles

September 11, 2001, marked one of our nation’s darkest days. Few responded as bravely as New York City’s first responders. That day, the @FDNY lost 343, @PANYNJ lost 37, NYPD lost 23, and many others continue to suffer from illnesses related to 9/11. We will #NeverForget.
