The exhibit celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Power Broker, featuring items from our collections alongside excerpts from Robert Caro's text. Some reports on display are directly referenced in the text, while others are selected to illustrate key themes from the book.

Our newest exhibit, "Concrete Plans: Reports and Planning Studies from the Projects of Robert Moses," is now on display in our fifth floor lobby in University Library, through January 2025.

We're pleased to share that the Great Lakes Passenger Steamship Pamphlets Collection has been digitized. The collection of 78 pamphlets dates from 1890-1972, and can be viewed online here:

A 1938 menu from United Airlines listed its 4-course Sky Dining service, designed by Swiss-trained chef Max Burkhardt. A donor note indicates that this menu was collected on a DC-3; United’s DC-3s would have held 21 passengers in a standard seating configuration. Behr Collection.

A c.1915 broadside depicts the death of a worker in a train crash, followed by his union's support for his widow and children. It was printed for the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, founded in 1883, making it one of the oldest railway unions in the United States.

With the impending closure of Chicago's Greyhound Station in the news, we're sharing this 1960s-era poster from our collection. Intercity bus transit in Chicago dates back to the 1920s, with the current Greyhound terminal dating back to 1989.
