You would like to think that. Unfortunately, in IHSA football it’s the teams that can recruit who win. I’ve seen plenty of teams with ridiculous talent but terrible schemes beat less talented but more technically sound teams. Your northern, private school bias knows no bounds. 🤦♂️
My favorite quote from last week, because I agree with it. 🎯
"I don't care what level you play at, you need to be committed to the weight room, and you need to play multiple sports." Ric Arand
Cannot emphasize it enough, the weight room is the primary differentiator.
Your NUIC rushing king.
On the season Sean rushed for 1,954 yards on 213 attempts for 28 TD's and 9.2 yards per carry.
For his career he finishes with 4,749 yards and 67 touchdowns on 558 attempts. That's a career average of 8.5 yards per carry.
Congratulations
@sean_ormiston
Out of 207 schools that restarted sports, 30,000 student-athletes, 16,000 plus practices and over 4,000 games from September through the first week of October there were 207 COVID cases. Only 1 case was attributed to contact through sports.
What's your thoughts?
I think it's safe to say that the move to ISU has been received well. All 4 games featured a lot of fans, and the facilities were great.
It was a great day at state!
Seniors, this is is your last regular season game of your High School career, and for some it may be your last game ever. Buckle up a little bit tighter tonight and leave it all on the field. You'll never get this night back. It's been a pleasure watching you all play!

The final 8 in 2A North have a combined record of 76-4.
And you can't truly eliminate travel.
@IHSA_IL
let's get 1-32 back off the shelf and put it in place.
Forreston 44 CPC 6 Final.
Forreston wins their 3rd title in 5 seasons, and gives the NUIC title
#20
.
They are the 13th state champion in the past 16 seasons.
It has been reported that EPC Head Coach Randy Asche is stepping down after 11 seasons. In that time, he has compiled an 84-33 record with a perfect 14-0 season and Class 2A State Title in 2014.
We wish Coach Asche the best of luck in his future endeavors.
Lena-Winslow becomes the first Class 1A school to win 5 state titles in IHSA history. Likewise,
@RicArand
has the most state titles by any Class 1A coach in IHSA history.
Congratulations!
Byron 69 Mt. Carmel 7 | Final
A lot of history set in this one.
Most points scored in a 3A game
Largest point differential in all state championship games
Most points scored in a season
Most rushing TD's in a season
Largest point differential in IHSA history in a season
It's official,
@43_valentine
has received his scholarship to play football at NIU. Accepting a preferred walkon offer after his senior year, the work he put in during his redshirt freshman year has made the difference. Congratulations Rahv, and best of luck!

Breaking News: It has been reported that Forreston HC Denny Diduch will resign his position at Forreston. In 10 years, Diduch has gone 87-27, with 5 quarterfinal, 3 semifinal, and 2 state championship appearances. He led the Cards to state titles in 2014 and 2016!
Lena-Winslow running back Rahveon Valentine
@43_valentine
finishes his career with a new conference and school record 4,633 rushing yards on 455 carries and 56 TD.
Awesome job Rahv, it's been a blast watching you play! Best of luck for your future!
It's with great sadness we announce the passing of Stockton legend John O'Boyle. Coach O'Boyle guided the Blackhawks to State Titles in 1978 and 1991, along with runner-up in 1975 and 1977. He was 279-74-1 from 1961-1997 with 18 playoff appearances in 24 seasons.
RIP Coach 🙏🙏
Forreston running back AJ Christensen just won state titles in the 110 and 300 hurdle events. Coe College will be receiving an exceptional athlete in the fall!
Here's your Class 1A and 2A NUIC All-State 1st Team for 2018.
Isaiah Bruce RB/DE Le-Win
Colin Dvorak RB/LB Stockton
Trey Engelbrecht RB/LB Dakota
Mitchell Heinz OL Forreston
Nate Rahn LB Milledgeville
Addison Keltner DL EPC
Congrats to these guys on great seasons.
Sad news has hit the NUIC as Le-Win alum Colton Drye has tragically passed away in a car accident in Iowa. A 2015 Le-Win graduate, Colton was the starting safety on the 2013 state championship team as a junior, and again on the 2014 quarterfinal team.
We've had 4 teams in the quarterfinals before, but never in 1 class.
For the 1st time ever the NUIC sends all 4 Class 1A teams to the quarterfinals. It's a lock to have a team in Champaign.

Here's a look at the Class 2A Dynasty Ratings over the past 5 seasons. The number in parentheses is the team record, and the second number is the rating.
All classes are determined off this past seasons playoff class.
The IHSA is proud to announce that Girls Flag Football will be the latest sport to debut an IHSA State Series, as the IHSA will conduct its inaugural postseason, culminating with an IHSA Girls Flag Football State Champion being crowned, in the fall of 2024.
We bleed the colors of our towns through the passion and energy to represent and support our teams.
We have that same energy and passion to love and bleed the Red, White, and Blue.
Today we honor those who have served our great nation.
Thank you for your service!
Serving in the USAF, Colton was stationed in Texas, and was returning home to visit family while on leave.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Drye family, and the Lena and Winslow communities.
Rest easy soldier. 🙏🇺🇸
I have seen a lot of skepticism and negativity around yesterday's announcement. I also see 46, now to be 47 states playing sports.
The most important thing I see is the joy and jubilation of kids, coaches, and parents everywhere. To me, that's worth it.

Playing with a loaded backfield as a sophomore, suffering a season ending injury 15 minutes into the spring season, and fighting his way back to lead Le-Win to another state title,
@mareyroby43
finishes his career with 2,546 yards rushing and 33 TD's. Congratulations Marey!
The season didn't end the way they wanted, but these seniors were able to play and practice on the last day of the season every year they played.
You guys set the greatest bar that all teams hope to replicate.
Congratulations, Lena-Winslow, on another great season!
Sean Ormiston's record-setting season had so many spectacular runs. How could one narrow them down to the best 10?
Well, here is the 2019 Top 10 of the NUIC's all-time leading rusher:
Had me with team bonding, chemistry, growing up together, different backgrounds, etc.
Lost me at not knowing where their meals come from.
Tuition is $13k a year. I can attend UW-Platteville at that price. They know where their meals are coming from.
Here's an interesting thought. Always hear how 1A/2A can't compete with 3A schools...blah, blah, blah.
3 state ranked teams in 3A lost to 1A or 2A opponents this week.
With Forreston and Le-Win winning today, the NUIC will put a team in the State Championship for the 14th time in 15 seasons!

For those who say Du-Pec can't compete in 3A because they play in the NUIC and need to go to a different conference, how bout you put more respect on the level of play in the NUIC 1A-3A
Le-Win running back Rahveon Valentine has received a PWO offer from Northern Illinois!
Congrats Rahv, this is a great offer!

The NUIC will put a team in the state championship game for the 15th time in the past 16 seasons. Can they make it 16 in 16? The NUIC is 12-2 at state during this time!
Let's Go!!

Aquin has announced their new Head Coach will be Broc Kundert. Coach Kundert is a product of Freeport, played college football at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, and spent last season as the DC at Freeport.
Congrats to Coach Kundert and the opportunities ahead.
Congratulations to 8-man coaches Pat Elder and Jason Kirby on their induction into the 2023 IHSFCA Hall of Fame Class.
Both men have seen success at 11-man levels and have helped lead their respective programs into their 8-man transition with success.

Lena-Winslow and Camp Point Central will meet for the 2nd consecutive year in the state championship game.
It is the first time in Class 1A history where both teams return to the state championship game in back to back years.
Everyone has heard of
@awtitansfb
QB Coltin Quagliano. Now he is getting looks from D1 schools.
This kid was robbed of 1st team All-State honors, and coaches should be looking at him.
For those complaining that private schools should be in their own playoff bracket, here's how that bracket would look seeded 1-28 for all 28 qualified private schools in the 2023 playoff field.
Their actual enrollment and current classification is listed behind their record.
After a great visit and awesome conversation with Coach Bielema, I’d like to announce my commitment to play football the University of Illinois! Thank you to all those who have made this possible, including my coaches, teammates, and family!

Quick shout out to these former NUIC footballers, now freshmen in college.
Forreston's Sam Barkalow and Gavin Fuchs at Western, dressing for North Dakota State game. Forreston's AJ Christensen, first career TD at Coe. Kaleb and Kody Plattenberger from West Carroll, now Monmouth.
It has been announced that Polo's Reid Taylor has committed to play football at Central College. He will also run track at Central.
Congratulations Reid and best of luck to you!
Congratulations to Brian Reusch of WCCI on being inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame for 2019 for media.
Brian does a lot of great work covering sports in the NUIC!
Congratulations to Fulton HC Patrick Lower on his 70th win at the helm of the Steamers. With just two more wins he will join the exclusive top 20 coaches of all-time in the NUIC.
While most of his wins have come in the TRAC, all of these wins have come at Fulton.
