We're here to play football. We will do that to the best of our ability with players that are humble, disciplined and who desire to be here. Our mission remains the same: Sacrifice Self. Serve Others. Glorify God.

This has certainly been a setback, but if someone wants to go somewhere because there are six more people on the field, then they probably wouldn't last long here anyway. As a program, we are not concerned with ignorant opinions, negativity or difficulties we face.

Because we are from a small urban area we have many schools surrounding us who have poached student-athletes from our school using the stigma that still (incorrectly) surrounds 8-man football.

Our school community has been overwhelmingly supportive of our switch and Friday nights feel the same as they did before the switch. However, within the greater Decatur area reception has been "lukewarm" at best.

How Has The Community/School Embraced The 11 Man to 8 Man Change: This will be our sixth season in the I8FA. The association has been a blessing to our program and I truly believe we would not have a football program if it were not for 8-man football in Illinois.

We feel that if we approach all aspects of life in such a way that the desired results will follow.

Coach Quote: Unity hasn't won a football game since October 28, 2022. We hope we can end that streak this season. Most important for us is that we focus on doing things the right way both on and off the football field.
