@NLC_2019 I’ve had multiple sales break down this year. Ground rent has been an issue. Mortgage companies not lending to people because of it. Dropped the price.

Makes you realise how lucrative leasehold is in this country. Absolute shambles. Let’s hope Matthew Pennycook @mtpennycook addresses this issue soon.

Huge congratulations to awesome @LiamSpender & team for their victory. But the amount of legalise involved shows how just convoluted leasehold law is for ordinary citizens. Fleecehold should be eradicated & home ownership placed in consumer law. But it makes millions for lawyers

Basically what they are saying is its only the minority complaining about being ripped off, bullied and exploited Unfortunatley many leaseholders may be blissfully unaware their lease has dropped below 80yrs, or their ground rent would make their property unsellable or the MA is

@adamfmk4 @lbbdcouncil @LiamSpender It shouldn’t at all - but the leaseholders in the estate were gaslit by the council & its leadership for years. I have personally been attacked by so many elected officials on this over the last 3 years. This win is enormous for Barking and Dagenham.

🚨 First Tier Tribunal outcome! Leaseholder who claimed @lbbdcouncil had been overcharging leasehold service charges has won in court and the council have been ordered to refund 20% of the charges for caretaking, estate management & gardening. If all leaseholders ask for the
