SDOT saying they tried to add bike lanes but it was really hard and cars are too important, so they are recommending that bikes can go in the bus lane. However, there are OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FUTURE. Yay, future.

SDOT talking about the importance of 15th Ave. NE for "flushing traffic." Plus, there are bike lanes in other places. Therefore, 15th NE will not be getting the protected bike lanes that are recommended in the Bicycle Master Plan. Sorry, bikers.

At this moment, the City of Seattle has three active, officially declared, civil emergencies: the homelessness crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the current unrest tied to protests of the killing of George Floyd.

@typewriteralley Cal Anderson Park is actually surrounded by pavement that should become people streets. Think outside the car.

Post enforcement number for residents to call if it becomes a congregation. Post reminders about social distancing (also do this on shared trails). This also reinforces the idea that we shouldn't be driving far, if at all.

This is important. Six feet.. If you can't give 6 ft to pass, slow down and wait until you can. This isn't the time to be winning Strava segments. Other good stuff in here.

No, this isn’t another fundraising ask. It’s a PSA with important guidelines from our Executive Director, Pete. Have you been out riding lately? We have too, and that's why we want to remind you about some key steps to take during this crisis to keep yourself and others safe.

Problem: Just went on a run and it was impossible to maintain a safe distance along Lake Washington Boulevard and Coleman Park. And this was at 4pm on a weekday. Solution: We should implement permanent open streets along these and other parks to reduce dangerous crowding

I'm saddened and frustrated that this is the second cyclist death on NE 8th in less than a year. I'm frustrated that there's going to be another ghost bike on our streets. I'm pained for this victim's family and loved ones. You wanna know a cruel irony in this?

Correction: it was a Car-bicycle collision. The victim was transported to the hospital but unfortunately passed away. The investigation is just beginning, and we'll have more information as it becomes available.

To allow for greater social distancing, downtown Seattle streets should be assigned as follows: Alaskan, 2nd, 4th - peds and bikes; 1st, 3rd, 5th, Buses and cars. Not sure yet what to do with the E/W streets. Whole city follows pattern, every other street. #SocialDistancing

We MUST stop moving folks who have no other shelter options, especially now. Let’s navigate people to housing and shelter, and when there is none then focus on assistance with healthcare, counciling, sanitation supplies, and public education about the crisis at hand. Not sweeps.

137th and Midvale. Sweeps still taking place in Seattle WA. Residents let us know that they were not offered a ride to a shelter and that they were told their belongings would be thrown away if they weren’t moved. We must take care of EVERYONE during this time. #stopthesweeps
