Week 0 isn’t even an option under current NCAA rules unless you’re playing in Hawaii or playing overseas. ND and USC don’t qualify. So if Week 0 is being floated, it likely requires an exemption. And that exemption conveniently gives USC a third bye to navigate a Big Ten

USC was frozen out of the ability to read + definitely didn't just use the MOU as an excuse to do what they wanted to do all along and then spin it to some of the world's most gullible people.
A person with direct knowledge of the communications between the Big Ten conference office and schools confirmed to @NBCSports that all 18 schools received the full language of the CFP MOU, which was unanimously supported by all current and incoming members in March 2024.

did the players even consider this anonymous bowl official’s feelings before making the decision as a team? deeply concerning stuff.
“What kind of message does Notre Dame send?" bowl official told @On3sports. "We didn’t make the playoffs, so let’s just pack it up & go home. You think BYU’s not upset. Hell ya they are. So are other teams, but they sucked it up. That’s poor leadership.”

Didn’t watch Alabama Florida State I guess. Must’ve ran out of time.
Hunter Yurachek says when the CFP committee rewatched Notre Dame vs. Miami, the Hurricanes' defense holding Jeremiyah Love to 33 yards and the Irish not being able to hang with the Canes' wide receivers stood out. "There was a little more athleticism on the side of Miami."

Notre Dame dropped 2 CFP ranking spots following a 49-20 win at Stanford and no 13th game. Alabama gained 1 spot following a 27-20 win at Auburn and a 28-7 loss to Georgia. ND was penalized for a 27-24 loss at Miami in Week 1. Bama's 31-17 loss to FSU in Week 1 didn't matter.

Will be interested to see how Marcus Freeman and Pete Bevacqua handle this. They campaigned very little publicly, although I'm not sure how much utility there was in doing so.

tough day for “the games have to matter!!!” crowd. alabama plays a football game and is downright uncompetitive but unaffected in the rankings, meanwhile idle ND and miami are suddenly evaluated completely differently? what in the world are we doing here?

Alabama isn’t better than Notre Dame or Miami, they haven’t played playoff caliber football for 6 weeks, this is something everyone on TV knows but most will not say.
