Friends and colleagues, the book is coming out next month, so I wanted to put my name out there in case you're looking for anyone to give a book/research talk at your institution this upcoming academic year. Happy to do so anywhere in the world, so please reach out :).
The book has a page!. Check it out if you want to learn about how for a century balloons were deemed useless/obsolete technology only to then be reinvented in the late 1800s as quintessential artifacts of modernity. Oh, and if you're into French history.

In my job, I find few things as rewarding as going through proofs. Have done it a few times with articles but this is the first (and hopefully not last) time with a book. Couldn't be happier with @mitpress's font choice. In bookstores sometime mid-2025 :). #ascendingrepublic

Early in grad school I got pretty interested in the history of the self (@DavidAvromBell led a great seminar titled "Revolutionary Lives"). So I had some fun revisiting Rousseau to pen this very brief survey of the history of authenticity for @IeInsights.
