Little known fact: Although much has been written about America's PAST treatment of Black veterans, few people are aware that tens of thousands of Black people who served in the US Armed Forces are technically and legally excluded from Veterans Day. A thread (and a story)

Just heard some terrible news. @CHUOFM 89.1 FM campus/community radio station -a vital institution in the capital- has been defunded by the students of @uOttawa after a majority voted in a referendum to end the $4 levy. This is a huge blow to the Ottawa community.

Some students actually love and appreciate our teachers. I hope to see more of this happening from our youth. These teachers deserve this and much more. #TeacherAppreciationWeek #teacher #teachertwitter #BlackTeachersMatter #BlackMen #BlackStudents

This time, four months ago, It was a normal day. I was at my office getting a booklet made for each of my coworkers that would show their growth in their skills to help get them raises. 2 hours from then, I’d get a call that would shatter my world. My wife called, screaming

Feeling stressed & cynical as Sept 30th approaches. The one-day performative parade of orange shirts marching towards me is a lot. Anyway. #HonourTheChildren. The children that are still missing. Those being recovered. Those apprehended & Othered. Those that are healing. 🧡

I have never met a person who believes that people learn new things at the same pace. However, the vast majority of students in education are expected to learn a high volume of new skills at the exact same pace as their peers. That isn’t good for learning or self-esteem.
