Wisconsin has a longstanding tradition of leadership in mathematics education. While we share the goal of improving math achievement, creating new state mandates isn’t the answer. Lawmakers should study what’s working now and replicate successful strategies across districts.

For educators, trust is everything. Our careers, our reputations, and our calling depend on that trust. That is precisely why, when we see verifiable evidence of misconduct, we act. We act to protect kids.

It's National School Psychology Week! Thank you to all of the professionals in schools who help students in their time of need or need someone to provide a safe space to express themselves. Students need our support and school psychologists are able to provide it!

Students learn best when they are present, focused, and engaged in the classrooms - limiting distractions helps create thriving learning environments. It's equally important that decisions about how we educate our kids remain are made locally, with community input.
Wisconsin became the 36th state to limit cellphones and other electronic devices in school Friday, when its Democratic governor signed a bill requiring districts to prohibit phone use during class.

The Wisconsin Deafblind Technical Assistance Project (WDBTAP) allows deafblind learners to get the services and support they need and is an essential lifeline for families across Wisconsin. Parents like Rachel Gunderson know how vital funding is to support deafblind students.

At a time when our kids are facing unprecedented mental health challenges, investing in school-based mental health and staffing is critical. Cutting these grants for political reasons was short-sighted and harmful to Wisconsin students. https://t.co/6zACJcSEAL

Every single child, in every corner across our state, deserves access to a high-quality public education every single day. Yesterday’s signing of a Memorandum of Understanding marks an important milestone between the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the DPI.

Yesterday, Madison School and Community Recreation (MSCR) took part in a parade at the State Capitol for Lights On Afterschool. Kids deserve every opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive out of school as much as they do in school and programs like Lights On allow that to happen.
