You can take away many amazing things from the Honourable Lincoln Alexander and one of the important lessons that stays with OBEN is...to TRY at whatever it is you do. Try to learn something, use a little hair grease and get it done. #LincolnAlexanderDay

I spoke with national union leaders this morning about the Ontario government’s inappropriate preemptive use of the notwithstanding clause, which undermines the fundamental rights and freedoms of workers. Our government stands firmly with our country’s workers.

We asked our BPN parents how they start the school year! What seemed to continue to appear was the importance of advocating for their children by staying connected to their schools and their communities. #OBEN #BlackStudents #BlackCommunity #BlackParentsNetwork #BackToSchool

Several of the parents in our network use affirmations with their children. These are short sentences children, teens & adults can repeat to themselves (aloud or in their head) to remind them of their abilities! (2/2) #BackToSchool #BlackStudents #BlackExcellence #BlackCommunity

BPN Tip #1: Our children face different obstacles throughout their day. It is up to us as parents and community members to help build the self-confidence and the perseverance they will need to face these obstacles. (1/2) #BlackParentsNetwork #BPN #OBEN
