Just had a call from Pam at Newcastle Jewellery Company and she says she HAS MY RING!!!!!!!!!!! The police are with her now. Thanks so much for everything Twitter. Love you guys <3
Gutted to say I’ve lost my engagement ring. Possibly on the metro or near Central Station. If anyone picks it up and shares it, I’m the owner. Please help find it!

Today my boys lost the man they loved and always will love the most. Anthony was a good man, great Dad and will be a huge hole in our lives. Hug those you love close 💗

New on the blog - a masterclass in communication. This week Huw Edwards and the BBC have been exceptional. This important broadcast news organisation must be protected.
So

- has already deleted past posts about Caroline Flack off its website. Tells you absolutely everything you need to know about the state of our media

Hi
@sainsburys
, I’ve got Covid and feel unbelievably lousy. I had to do a food shop as my son’s ill too but remains hungry 🙄 Whoever your delivery driver was today on the 7.30am-8.30am slot in NE27 please say thank you as he was so lovely when I shut the door I cried.
Big thanks to everyone for the many lovely messages! I’ve totally lost control of my socials! In other news I’m chuffed to have made the papers - listed right next to Rick Wakeman 🤣
Last week I had the incredible privilege of meeting Prince Charles, when he awarded my CBE.
Being in the room with a whole host of amazing recipients - people who navigate us through pandemics, prevent nuclear war, help people find the money to survive - was incredibly humbling.
Hey you lovely Twitter people, I can’t get on top of our messages but I totes went and married
@wadds
today (see sneaky pic of us and our photographer and then us by the pool) and your Twitter love has made us both cry today. We love you right back and thanks all of you. 💕
So here's my latest news - while I'm also acting as a NED in the wider business marketplace, I'm joining the family business!
@Wadds
and I have a shared love of the creative industries, which we both want to see succeed.
The NYC wedding pics just dropped. Beaming and bubbling at the same time. 💕 And I promise once this week is over I’ll kill the wedding chat but right now I’m hanging in this bubble for a tiny bit longer
A little but important thank you thread. At the end of last year, I was struggling a LOT. Emotionally draining liaison with The Met following 10 months of intensive online trolling, my son being diagnosed with epilepsy, two toxic relationships and more collided with work
Did you know
@wadds
has a degree in engineering? There’s nothing he can’t turn his hand to. Here’s the great unveil of my Christmas present - a sauna shed. I love it, and him, so much 🥰❤️🎄🥂

Been meaning to add one thing to today's ring story. I called / emailed about 12 local pawn brokers and jewellers. Every single one went out their way to help and most had already seen the ring thanks to social media. People are LOVELY. Thank you all x
Baby loss is a desperately sad and all too frequent experience for many. I can speak from experience. It also remains a fairly taboo topic. It's incredibly brave for the family to share their story in this way and we have to stop brushing these things under the carpet
I'm sorry but what is this story doing prominently positioned on the BBC news (world news and UK news) home page? Don't understand the BBC's news editing sometimes.
👇🏿 All of this and three more points:
1) journalism skills aren’t the same as stakeholder engagement skills
2) this obsession with media relations always ends badly (ask the NHS)
3) the inter-relationships between political journalists and them and gov is extremely unhealthy
Reflecting on my ‘favourite’ piece of misogyny in light of the Rayner story, which I’ve decided was when a former CIPR President (also a parent) rang me to tell me not to stand for the role as it would be hard to be a decent Mum to my kids. Mate, that made me doubly determined 😘
When you’re on a train to London AGAIN. And you’re knackered and can’t get through your to do list. And then you get a call saying you’ve a leak at home. And you’re skint and just can’t deal. And then someone buys you a G&T because it’s cash no card and you’re a bit 😢 LOVELY MAN
Tell you what, the lock down has really reinforced to me how lucky and privileged we are as a family. We’ve space, tech and books for the kids and food. Hard to think about how those without are managing right now 💔
Tell you one thing, virtual agencies like mine are 💯 geared up right now. The infrastructure for working remotely is in place, tried and tested and it’s business as usual. It’s an agile model that works and comes into its own more than ever at times like this

@Hallmeister
Happy to help Sarah , just do pmeased we could reunite you with your beautiful ring, have a fabulous wedding from everyone at Newcastle Jewellery Company
Got two kids. School has put year 3 homework on the website of which maths ALONE is 27 pages of print outs. Nothing for year five yet. I have no idea how I’m supposed to run a business full time in this climate and spend any time doing this with them. Feeling absolutely shit 😢
FOR FUCK'S SAKE can these people (across all parties) please pull themselves together and find just the tiniest ounce of integrity? Or even better piss off and leave the professionals to it
Thank you so, so much for the incredibly kind messages on here yesterday. I'm really sorry I've not replied to everyone due to sheer volume but I've read every one and can't tell you how grateful I am for the support. It takes a village so here's to us all 🥂x
Can we stop this obsession with resilience building.
As a boss, build a culture that doesn’t make unrealistic demands.
As a friend, help people to make the hard life choices they need to be happy.
Often it’s the expectations that are the problem, not a lack of ‘resilience’.
Tell you what, while we are still seeing narratives like this in school, we are never going to change ingrained attitudes to sexual behaviour

Why redefine / rename PR? We know what we do: we are a strategic management function with a clear role in organisational success. Let’s just get on and educate people about how we help generate economic wealth through ethical practice and what we can do for them
Short 🧵
Thirteen years ago to this very month, I started a little PR and marketing consultancy. Of course
@SimonCrestphoto
was on hand to sort my launch shot.
I was building something and my branding was red. You can see where this went.
I mean OMIGOD the actual scenes.
Always find these types of appointments frustrating. Massive congrats to Arwyn but this is very much a role for a strategic PR practitioner rather than a journalist.
A bit of personal news: after 15 years at the BBC I'll be leaving after the summer to take up the role of Director of Communications and Engagement at the Assembly. Sad to be leaving such a great team, but very excited about a new challenge with interesting changes on the way.
Friday feels: for every nasty threat I've had this week, I've had double the support from people that I love and respect. Thanks guys. Appreciate you standing shoulder to shoulder against the online bullies and rape / death threats. It's appreciated.
This is a very good omen for
@UKEUchallenge
as it has now been confirmed that the Electoral Commission regulated the Referendum on the basis of an error of law. See here for more info on the case and how to support it:
Tobes got his

Good PR advocates organisational purpose, accountable leadership, honesty, transparency and integrity. Public relations isn’t Max Clifford type publicity as is often commonly misconstrued
So I often get on my high horse about brands wading into causes for social media wins rather than to affect real change over the longterm. But here’s an example that’s different and speaks volumes
What a tit. Before he even gets to the vendetta about Meghan, Piers Morgan is busy harassing a team member about THE LENGTH OF HER SKIRT. Surely enough to get him off air for good
A good reminder that life is not about status, money or wealth but the people you love who keep you grounded, and to keep work and petty politics at the door. Such a brave story to share
Piece from the Guardian today really stuck with me about Lee Cain saying about a massive gov policy / comms blind spot because no one on the panel referenced had received free school meals. Diversity is SO important.
Do better.
Fed up of people with no experience and limited talent thinking that having a blog gives them a license to lecture others. Do the hard graft and come back then, yeah?
I've just sent an email with the potential to create something bigger, better, more awe inspiring and more breath taking than the PR industry has ever seen
Tonight we’ve had one of those once in a lifetime evenings exploring Venice, being taught by a cesarina how to cook traditional recipes and enjoying cocktails. Here’s to you 🍹
