The rise and fall of Crompton Place is echoed in towns and cities across Britain, but there is no one answer to the knotty problem of replacing them

Nice example of students assessing their own work as they begin their #GCSE #Geography journey in Year 10. Today we practiced the PEEL structure and students identified elements of this in their own work.

Get this shot on the cover of every paper tomorrow morning. Incredible achievement. That rocket is taller than the tallest building in Leicester and SpaceX caught it in a giant pair of chopsticks. Unbelievable! π₯’

Northern lights on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border @VirtualAstro. Beautiful pinks and vibrant green just about visible with the naked eye about an hour ago.

View towards the north from my house. I think that pink is the aurora. Get off Snapchat, pause Netflix, turn off your Xbox. Go outside, point your phone camera to the sky. Hold still and take a long (1-3 second) exposure (use night mode if you have it). See what appears.

There's a huge jump in geomagnetic activity at the moment. If this can last into the night, we could be in for an amazing display! Image: @aurorawatchuk

A lesson Iβm learning from the photos out of these intense tornadoes across Florida today is that, to nobodies surprise, houses built to a robust wind code *survive*, even in the face of 120-130mph winds - a lesson Dixie and Tornado Alley could learn #flwx
