Emmanuel Pregnon (75) weighs 318 pounds. His six steps in contact with Whittington added six instances of a ground reaction force! Each step generated ~1400 N of force towards the endzone. Without him, Noah Whittington doesn’t score. #Physics
"YOU CAN'T CAGE HIM" ‼️ How did Noah Whittington stay on his feet during this @oregonfootball 40-yard touchdown run 😱

👀 same reason why Coors Field is so friendly to hitters 1. Baseballs travel about 10% further 2. Offspeed pitches have less movement All due to lower air density and less air resistance! #Science
Not a dumb question at all! Technically, yes, wind at the same speed would be less impactful at higher elevations than at sea level. Because the density of the air is lower, there are fewer molecules to blow against you and create the resistance you feel in heavy winds. Wind

Cooper Flagg lowers his center of mass just before takeoff, storing elastic potential energy. This rapidly converts to kinetic energy as he leaves the ground (with a force of at least 2,500 N exerted on the court)! #Physics

This is amazing. Penei Sewell with about 4800 Joules of kinetic energy at or near top speed. Jamhyr Gibbs cracked 4300 J on his 78-yard touchdown run! These are both comparable to the KE of a galloping horse. #Physics

Shohei Ohtani transfers ~140 Joules of kinetic energy to a baseball when he throws a fastball. In his 4th inning home run, he transferred nearly 200 J of energy to the ball! MLB avg fastball: 120 J MLB avg exit velo: 114 J (Source: baseballsavant)
Shohei Ohtani has officially put together the greatest athletic performance of our lifetime. 6 shutout innings, 10 strikeouts & 3 HRs We’re watching the greatest baseball player of all-time
