Just to clarify, police officers who are only interested in being police officers if they have no accountability and are worshipped as heroes are resigning? And the problem is?

For me, the most disturbing part of this story is that she was a licensed RN who was treating patients and she believed all of this garbage that is contradicted by basic biology.

I didn't know about the cat. I had to stop and confirm it. Unfortunately, horrifyingly, you're right.
I could deal with Pratt maybe being a Trump supporter because he's probably a complete moron in real life. However, getting rid of his elderly cat is unforgivable.

You wouldn't believe how often people die sitting behind the wheel of their car trying to drive themselves to the hospital. They often don't make it out of their driveway and are just found there.
Actually, you probably would believe how often it happens. It's a lot.

Aging. It happens to us all, if we're lucky. The human body isn't made by hollywood and tends to fall apart.

For god's sake, the shooter flat out said he's a white supremacist and it was about race. He even put out a ridiculously long manifesto about it.
It's too soon to know, but this smells like one of those cases where the police were warned a dozen times and ignored it.

I could add a thread about how African slaves weren't just plantation labor but actually brought advanced agricultural techniques (and even some crops) with them to North America. However, white slavers taking credit for African agriculture might be a bit too much for today.

I'd like to add one thing to this. COVID isn't the only nasty contagious respiratory illness out there, though it is one of the worst. Even if a COVID test comes back negative, take similar precautions if you or someone you know has symptoms of being sick.
I'm just going to say that if you see a conservative bashing Kris Kristofferson on here, you can be confident that their "patriotism" is entirely performative and they don't give a single shit about this country, its citizens, or its military.

I don't feel like most Gen Xers did at the time of the scandal. I think views about the whole situation have changed a lot in the last 25 years. When you get past a certain age, how young a 22 year old intern is becomes much more stark.

People always ask "how is this legal?" It's not about legal or illegal. It's about what they can get away with. An unenforced law or one without real repercussions is meaningless. How often are major corporations given fines that are less than what they earn in a day?
