@YongYea dev here . 1. to set a 45fps framerate in code you need disable vsync (uncap the framerate) and handle frame timings yourself. doing so results in screen tearing because 40 or 45 doesn't divide evenly into 60hz, which is the standard TV refresh rate. 1/2.

@pixeltroid1 i get it - its the small stuff like this that makes gamedev so tedious, but consider the scenario if a player controller disconnects due to the batterys dying - i would be pretty unhappy if the game crashed in this fashion.

I do want to point out that Hi-Fi Rush isn't a 'small game'. It took over 4 years to develop. No defense of how Xbox leadership has been running the show, but Matt Booty isn't wrong. He's referring to smaller games that don't take an entire generation to build.

I built a portable Xbox. This isn't a PC handheld, it isn't emulation, this is a real motherboard from a real Xbox. It has a 9” 480p display, pure digital video/audio, 100W USB C charge and play, and I'm currently adding WiFi 6 for wireless Xbox Live functionality. Yes, really.
