Excited for this opportunity! A dream come true being a head coach, and this is a great spot to get started. Can't wait to see what the future holds at Akron Westfield. Thankful for all the help along the way!
The Akron-Westfield boys basketball program has its new head coach. Steven Husk is the new head coach of the Westerner boys basketball program following Chad Clay who led the program to a 13-8 record last year. Husk has been an assistant coach at Hinton and Le Mars Community.

Before and after! Can't thank these boys enough for taking time out of their day to help clean out a basement. Lucky to be around a great group like these guys!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work. What do you when basketball season ends… you help Coach Husk with cleanup. Many hands make light work. Good work Blackhawks!!

A wonderful kid, son, brother, student, teammate, athlete. Right now we hurt. We hurt for the Colling’s. We hurt for each other. We have the best communities and surrounding communities pouring in love and support. Thank you.

Officially wrapped up our season tonight. A tradition that these guys have done for awhile that we made sure to keep it going. Had to make sure the dads got one more win under their belt! Next year will be tough 😀 This group won't settle on their 13-3 season! Future is bright!

When it comes to changing behavior, there is no substitute for relationships between educators and students. Tickets, stickers, candy, and “tiger bucks” can’t replace relationships. I’m not saying never to use those things, but they are not the foundation. #thatonekid #edchat

Every time we remove a student from class we rip away another layer of our own power. I’m not saying never to do it. I’m saying this always needs to be factored before removal. #education

Some students go an entire day at school without anyone saying their name. Be the adult who speaks to each student by name. Everyone loves to hear their name.
