New in The Innovation Materials! Insight into the implication of high-loading mechanical force on the mechanical bond. In this perspective, Zhang discussed the mechanical susceptibility of mechanical bonds, specifically focusing on the rupture of #covalent bonds within the

Out in @NatureChemistry with @GuillaumeDeBo grp. Overhand knot substantially increases scission of polymer under tension (≥2.6× faster); deformation by knot tightening activates otherwise unreactive bonds. Congrats @MinZhangw @FSchaufelberger Lucian &Rob!

🥨Overhand knot is one of the most reactive mechanophores as force-induced deformation leads to accelerated bond scission in the contracting knot! Great collab with @MinZhangw, Rob @FSchaufelberger, Lucian and @ProfDaveLeigh now in @NatureChemistry. https://t.co/a0qW6quXN1

Our latest work just out in @NatureChemistry. Knot tightening activates otherwise unreactive covalent bond under tension. It's a great teamwork in @ProfDaveLeigh group and collaboration with @GuillaumeDeBo group. Thanks @FSchaufelberger Lucian and Rob.
