It’s 61 years since Paul Stephenson led the Bristol Bus Boycott, against the ‘colour bar’ of the bus company against black & Asian people working on the buses. On the day Dr Martin Luther King gave his ‘I have a dream’ speech, the Bristol campaign won. https://t.co/NkV8RsImCV

Trauma survivors will be working 138% harder than anyone else in the room due to our conviction we have to overperfom to be safe or accepted-- & then tell ourselves we're "not working hard enough." It happens every day, in every setting you can imagine.

In 1967, Desmond and the Aces became one of the first Jamaican acts to chart in the UK with "007 (Shanty Town)" at #14. On April 22, 1969, they made history as the first Jamaican group to reach #1 in the UK with "Israelites." #blackhistorymonth #bhm

We need to create space for young people to express their emotions without fear of being punished.Having them discouraged only teaches them to surpress emotions which can be damaging .These emotions need to be discussed as a normal part of life & not for shaming & suppressing🧠🌱

Just read an Ofsted report stating that EYFS is successful in preparing the children for ‘the demands of KS1.’ IMO this is not the purpose of EY - & why do we have to be placing ’demands’ on such young children? Surely there should be joy in EY that then goes into KS1?

*Thousands* of children being raised by relatives in #KinshipCare are often suffering from life-changing trauma with no support. 💔 Sign Poppy’s open letter and urge the Government not to forget about children in kinship care: https://t.co/ryxTnMgOdZ ✏️ #ValueOurLove 💛
