Representrative Lee, it has been time for a long, long time. We need a concise word for policies that do not achieve stated aims yet continue to be funded by both parties for decades. Not "failed" policies but VEILED policies achieving nefarious aims. @RepBarbaraLee

Congressman Roy thought his "rope and tree" allusion was an appropriate way to emphasize how Texans take justice seriously. Yep. Open mouth, insert foot up to the knee, then chew it off and swallow rather than acknolwedge and apologize for the gaff. 2022 cannot come soon enough.

We--all Americans--must stop relying on our elected representatives to "do the right thing" WHEN WE HAVE NOT MADE CLEAR WHAT THE RIGHT THING IS. As Gandhi said, "When the people lead, the leaders will follow." But that assumes we have the right TO lead them.

I fully understand that many Republican Senators fear Trump's base politically. Some may understandably fear for their own safety and that of their families from that base's most extreme elements. I also fully understand that some Republican Senators share Trump's goals.

I fully understand that influencing the 17 Republican Senators needed to uphold their Oaths and vote to convict Trump is a nearly impossible task. But if recent events have taught us anything, it must be that what was once thought impossible IS POSSIBLE IF WE ACT TOGETHER.
