Nice idea and great study. But given we can’t get patients to take their meds, what chances do we have at getting them into a heat suit 4 times a week for an hour? All while our built environment does everything it can to remove thermal stress from our lives (e.g. air con)

The media are generally doing a poor job of reporting on this issue. But the biggest failing is leadership from the IOC and the lack of a credible boxing gov body. Creates room for misinformation, and the athlete takes the worst of it. Steve’s thread below is a great summary.
So much information on the Algerian Boxer. Let's clear up the mess in this thread. 1. They are NOT trans 2. The The IBA says she failed eligibility to compete as a female. We do not know test specifics. 3. If this is accurate, she is likely DSD (intersex). What does this mean?

So basically an SNP day designed to expose Labour divisions and undermine Starmer ended up with a Labour amendment securing the first Commons call for a ceasefire on Gaza. No wonder SNP and Tories furious. Starmer really is a lucky general.

Great thread on our perception of and appetite for risk in our personal and professional lives. I’ve recognised mine changing as I age/have a family. But interesting to see that shift happening on a national scale. The bigger the challenge, the more ambitious the solution.
NEW: analysis of millions of books published over the centuries suggests western society is shifting away from a culture of progress, and towards one of caution, worry and risk-aversion. I think this is one of the most important challenges facing us today.
