I am pleased to share that the paddle board and items associated with the Great Lakes crossings, have a new home at The Canadian Canoe Museum, where they will be used to educate on mental health, disability, teamwork and community.

These two young gents walked up and down my street yesterday asking if they could shovel people’s driveways for $20. $10 each I am guessing. I tipped them to get them to come back next time and saw they did at least 7 houses on my street. They worked hard. Young entrepreneurs!

This man, Jim Peever from Goderich came to my rescue on Saturday night. He drove to Michigan and became my boat captain for my 28 hr Lake Huron crossing. Jim met my team and me that day. He kept me safe through shipping lanes and freighters & scary weather. Jim is now family. 🇨🇦

I was told not to put up the Canadian flag on the boat during the Lake Superior crossing between two states. “The media won’t care about a Canadian making this crossing.” I told the support crew to put up the flag. They did care. They were wrong.

I met a 12 year old young man living with high level Autism last night who thanked me for all this. After I signed some stuff for him, he gave me a fist bump and as he walked away his mom cried, telling me he doesn't touch people. Sam if you see this, you are remarkable.
