Gene editing is an amazing tool to validate genes and modify fruit ripening in melon ✂️🧬🍈. Thanks @CRAGENOMICA for this fantastic thread to understand what we are currently doing in the melon lab, including two papers where I have been involved.
🆕 Three genes involved in melon ripening have been identified 👉 This new work led by @irtacat & @CRAGENOMICA researchers Jordi Garcia-Mas, Andrea Giordano & Marta Pujol would allow the development of melon varieties with a longer shelf life, helping to reduce food waste 🧬🍈
