If this deal stays as it supposedly is, this is a massive W for the Trump administration.

Why does Iowa have some of the worst congressional Republicans despite being a Trump state?.

🚨New: Iowa GOP Representative Ashley Hinson said that while she supports President Trump’s deportation agenda, she believes that there should be legal pathways such as workforce visas for immigrants to work in U.S. agriculture. “This is a workforce visa, not an amnesty issue.”

The Democrats aren’t going to moderate. @ScottMGreer did a good job of explaining this. Their whole strategy is to super charge their base by pandering to radicals and then hope for low turnout.

It’s time to leave the Cold War mindset in the past and reclaim older economic wisdom to build a better future.

And funnily enough, this style of thinking is closer to our Founding Founders’ beliefs. Look at the types of tariffs our forefathers supported.

Either we need reciprocal tariffs so as to negotiate lower tariffs with our allies and adversaries(as Trump has suggested) and/or we can put protectionist policies on certain industries like semi-conductors to build up our domestic economy and to encourage others to build here.

Markets are largely a great system that I am very thankful we have. However, we cannot keep acting like the system where our allies tariff us into oblivion while we do nothing about it is totally fine. It isn’t.

Our economists are either stuck in a pastime where every regulation is one step closer to the Kremlin, or they are paid off by certain business leaders who profit off the one-sided “free trade” that we have across the world.

Additionally, even our allies in Europe, Canada and Mexico imposed heavy tariffs on us that we neglected for so long.

This strategy had its drawbacks. In the process of weakening the Soviets we unintentionally helped China become a dominant power. The Chinese have no ideological liberalism and had no issue levying heavy tariffs on us.

This type of strategy worked well as a way to weaken the Soviet Union. America largely opened up its economy and trade to the world so as to build and form political alliances against the Soviets and cut them off from the rest of the world.
