So PROUD to be part of this effort from UNEP! Our manuscript on cryospheric microbes (including pathogens, but ALSO biotechnological useful ones) was included in this Frontiers Report. Many thanks to all the people involved in this enterprise!.
A new UNEP report highlights that heat waves are becoming increasingly common, with heat-related deaths among adults aged 65 and older rising by 85% since the 1990s. The report also warns that melting glaciers could reawaken ancient pathogens, while floods may release dangerous

Bravo Virginia! Hermoso y apasionante trabajo!

Felicitaciones!!! .#microbeart2024 #SomosInvestigación #LíderesEnDivulgación.
ASM’s Agar Art Exhibit is live tonight at E2Art Gallery in LA! Guests are exploring artwork created with living microbes by scientists and artists from around the world. Thanks for joining us to celebrate where art meets science. View the collection:

Very useful information! It can be a very effective way of communicating scientific facts to common people. Thanks @tveitdal.
Scientists just found a way to break through climate apathy The findings suggest that if scientists want to increase public urgency around climate change, they should highlight clear, concrete shifts instead of slow-moving trends. That could include the.

Atención microbiólogos: esta variación fenotípica podría explicar por qué, cepas puras podrían parecer contaminadas con otra cepa (morfotipo), pese a haber garantizado la pureza mediante repiques sucesivos de colonias individuales. .
Colony morphotype variation (CMV) in Burkholderia fuels its adaptability, virulence & resistance, yet is poorly understood. Shedding light on CMV is key to better therapies & unlocking safe biotech uses for the microbes. Read the #JBacteriology review:

Los datos no mienten. Y son realmente terroríficos. .
We are causing #globalwarming 100 times faster than past natural changes. We are taking Earth’s 🌎 climate beyond natural limits, with CO2 & temps levels not seen for 3 million years @COP29_AZ . No time to wait. #ActOnClimate. #climate #energy

Hermoso proyecto de nuestra amiga #LaAlbarracineta.Las proyecciones sobre la fachada del Museo son realmente extraordinarias (y una forma muy creativa de divulgar conocimiento e invitar al descubrimiento). Felicitaciones!.
Excited to share our latest work:.“Echoes of 1816: Microbial Footprints in Heritage Artifacts from Argentina’s Museum of Independence” 🇦🇷🦠📚.We explored the invisible microbial ecosystems inhabiting centuries-old objects. A thread👇.

Really unique! An outstanding achievement! Congratulations Niko and Asimov Press!.
More photos of the @AsimovPress book. Our book printer (based in Minneapolis) had to custom-make several parts for each order, including a display stand to hold each DNA capsule. The DNA was made by @catalogtechinc, sealed by Imagene in France, and sequenced by @plasmidsaurus.
