The #Right2Food can't be just a mirage! @HumanRightsMPs is honoured to have been part of the @FoodCoalitionKE that developed the stakeholders' report on the Right to Food in Kenya for submission to the 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review. The report was launched today.

@HumanRightsMPs on Thursday met with the Bungoma County Assembly members to present a Gender Equality & Women Empowerment Bill draft that aims to tackle some of these harmful cultural issues, empowering women and ensuring they have an opportunity to enjoy equal rights & freedoms.

In Bungoma County, many women & girls experience #GBV in silence. Bungoma has been ranked first among all the 47 counties with the highest percentage(34%) of women who experience #SexualViolence. Many young girls are still forced to undergo FGM & Early marriages. #GenderEquality

Art 27 of the Constitution of Kenya on equality and freedom from discrimination informs the Isiolo County Gender Equality & Women Empowerment Bill, 2023 brought forward by @HumanRightsMPs. Legal frameworks enable gov't, civil society & the community to fight gender inequalities.
