WE DID IT!! 🎉🎉🎉 We are thrilled that the Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Bill reached royal assent today! Around 60,000 parents annually will benefit from up to 12 weeks’ leave and pay when their babies are born needing neonatal care.

If you're an MP who's had a 32% pay rise since 2010, and have your meals subsidised by the taxpayer, you're in no position to lecture a nurse who, since 2010, earns £5,000 less in real-terms about pay restraint. There's plenty of money; it's just going to the wrong places.

What a week. We'd like to say a massive thank you to the 50+ organisations that have now pledged their support for @MartinSLewis' call on the Chancellor to postpone his planned energy price hikes. 🧵 📢 RT if you agree 1/5

Outrageous • MPs’ Menu in Parliament: “Pressed duck leg and caper terrine with celeriac & mustard remoulade & sour dough toast” — Cost: £4.52 (subsidised by you). • NHS Staff Menu in Hospital: “Macaroni Cheese” — Cost: £7.25 (paid by NHS nurses).

Perks of working for the NHS at Christmas is the mountain of generous donations of sweets and treats from patient families and senior colleagues... they recognise the dedication to care we try and give, in a system that is failing us and patients #FairPayforNursing

What a lovely gesture, maybe something we could consider on our unit? @OakesKatie 🤔
An idea we saw and liked so we have brought it to Ward 33 ASU @LivHospitals getting it right for our patients and families is so important to us

"He's 15 and he's never had his bed made for him." Care home manager Chris Wild recalls the night that "broke" him; when a teenager was dropped off alone at a home he was working at. https://t.co/NWMHGO8C8E 📺 Watch the full film: https://t.co/TMwNOfnqHq
