Loved my first week in my new role as a Research Assistant at @GlanvilleCentre @unilincoln Feeling unbelievably lucky to have landed a full-time, permanent role in such a competitive sphere and to work with such great people. I bought a new notebook to celebrate!

I’m excited that two of my chapters on ‘when bioethics fails’ and ‘global intersex’ have now been published in ‘Interdisciplinary and Global Perspectives on Intersex’ by Palgrave Macmillan. The book is edited by Megan Walker. https://t.co/AWcGRxWpuC

It seems not a week goes by of late without someone in government or uni management professing that literature, culture & language modules - esp. pre-WW1 - should be axed for 'relevant', 'practical' material. I teach 1800s pop culture. Frivolous right? Wrong. Let me explain. ⬇️

Does anyone else love to see a very neatly set out bibliography when marking? Perfectly formatted, sensible line spacing, in alphabetical order. Just me? Maybe it's time to get out...

People who frequently complain about 'snowflakes' are usually also easily offended by women, LGBTQ+, BAMEs, Muslims, eastern europeans, children against climate crisis, reliable science, HEIs, veganism, & avocados. Holding up a mirror is easy. Opening up conversation is hard.

It was an honour to be invited to speak at the #Lid2020 conference today. There were so many important topics discussed about inclusion and diversity @unilincoln. Well done to the @GlanvilleCentre for organising such a great event!

If my comments keep jumping around the screen, my students will think my marking technique is postmodern! 🤦♀️
