We honor the memory of Chris Haverly, the founder of Tristate Animal Rescue who saved tens of thousands of animals. Chris was returning from his weekly transport when he was killed in a car accident. We are so sorry for this immense loss for his family and the rescue community.

Friday marks 21 years since four firefighters died in two separate fires. The day came to be known as “Black Sunday.” On January 23, 2005, six firefighters were forced to jump from a fourth-floor window after being trapped by fire in an illegally converted Bronx apartment.
