I was initially confused, but I’m just happy to see Bubba Chandler get some reps in the Bigs. Friday is appointment television 📺.
Bubba Chandler will be used as a bulk reliever w/ the Pirates. The team views him as a starter long term and he can get starts this year, but the club wants him to get Major League experience and this is consistent with the role/expectations of other young pitchers like Ashcraft.

Bob Smizik was literally calling for Andrew Heaney to be cut just 5 days ago. Can’t make this up.
According to #Pirates owe Heaney a $50,000 bonus if he pitches 120 innings. Right now he’s at 119. Heaney was the scheduled starter tomorrow but according to that starter is now “to be determined.” .Is this Rowdygate revisited?.

The Brewers have consistently spent more than the Pirates during this period, and their investments are now paying off.
This is the 7th time in 8 years the Brewers will be in the playoffs. The Pirates haven’t made the playoffs 7 times in the last 45 years. How does Milwaukee do it and the Pittsburgh can’t? Similar market size.
