Kron @Kronykal is exactly right. But you try to explain that to the politicians who keep approving them, they don’t want to hear it, they want the tax revenue to spend and garner favors from tech companies. These centers also use huge amounts of water to cool the servers.
We do not have the energy infrastructure to sustain all of the AI data centers being built. They’re either going to need to build their own plants or we’re going to have to add a lot more nuclear into the grid. Solar isn’t going to cut it. Neither is wind. Coal and gas ↗️.
