I was proud to stand with my colleagues today to honor the life of Fred Smith. Fred was an industry pioneer, a great Tennessean, but most importantly a great man. He will be deeply missed.
Fred Smith was a giant, not just in business but in character. He helped build modern Memphis, and despite all his success he never treated you like he was a titan of industry. He was interested in what people had to say, offered advice, and never stopped giving back. Thanks
