The differing standards, #rights and #opportunities led to discontent + anger quickly as Ss wanted to quit (or keep people away) from their assigned countries. So immediately we were unpacking key 🌎 issues of #migration and considering the issue from many #perspectives. 2/3

This was a fun moment in our #migration themed #WWAIPAT #inquiry. It began with this dynamic #provocation ⬇️. The class and Ss were divided into 6 fictional countries - each with different sizes, economies, healthcare, job prospects, crime rates, life expectancies etc. #PYP 1/3

Grade 6 students explored migration in 6 fictional countries with different conditions during a ‘Mock UN Summit of Empathy.’ They debated, passed resolutions & tackled real-world challenges. A journey into migration, cooperation & empathy! 🌍✨ #ABIS #IBWorld #UNSummit

I was so in the thrall of our new team @oismumbai that August 1 passed me by...however, I sense there will be many altruistic actions ahead in August...and here's me jumping ahead to the 31st!

In our post #PYPX unit - #HWOO - we looked at organising something we learnt about ourselves from the #Exhibition. The Ss #inquired into the format of a Ted Talk and followed the #form + structure to create their own 'KIDx' talk. A very powerful + #reflective way to end the year!

When your students help you to pack up the class and then suddenly realise that we have accidentally built the coolest multi-levelled fort that must be explored + played with... My final day after 4 years in lovely 🇱🇦 @vislaos ! Onwards to the next adventure @ABISOman in 🇴🇲! #PYP

We began our #PYPX24 by designing a Yellow Brick Road in Feb to fit with our Literacy theme. It seemed fitting to end by carving up + signing the road to give each child a lasting souvenir of their experience and growth. My next #PYPX posts in 2025 will be coming from 🇴🇲😀(5/5)

The data collected after (as well as during) the #PYPX is really encouraging and suggests that the Ss #wellness, enjoyment and passion for their inquiries and the process was high throughout. Some snippets below and certainly #data that will help next year's G5 teachers! (4/5)

It was fun to add a dramatic element to this year's #PYPX finale. ⬇️ was our dress rehearsal. The aim was a tableau to symbolise either a key idea from their #inquiry or a position to #reflect a part of their journey. And of course, to our Oz 🎵 (3/5)

The #PYPX highlight for me this year has been the #communication and #social skills #ATL growth. Specifically how the students have reflected and learnt to adapt, engage and interact with different audiences, especially our youngest community members! (2/5)
