#PeopleOnTheMove: @GlendaleAZ names Purab Adabala its next transportation director. Adabala will manage all facets of the city’s transportation department, including the Glendale Regional Airport, transit services and the pavement management program.

Santa Maria Regional Transit added 20 new solar-powered Sunset shelters along its Broadway corridor route as part of an agreement with @TolarMfg. The new 12-foot shelters host security lighting, perforated-metal benches and custom SMRT branding.

The @FTA_DOT gave the @sdmts a perfect score in its 2025 Triennial Review of the agency, citing zero deficiencies in its management of FTA funds.

.@winnipegtransit's first 60-foot zero-emissions bus is going into limited service next week. The @cityofwinnipeg will be the first Canadian city with 60-foot battery-electric buses in its fleet.

The board of directors of @SamTrans voted Aug. 6 to join California State Senate Bill 63 (SB 63), a measure that would generate regional transportation funding for the peninsula if approved by voters in November 2026.

The first light-rail vehicle has arrived in the @CityofEdmonton for the Valley Line West Light-rail Transit project. The line will feature a total of 46 new vehicles, which are expected to be fully delivered by 2027.

.@SEPTA has released its new transit schedule that is scheduled to begin on Aug. 24 if new state transit funding is not secured by Aug. 14 to fill a $213 million recurring budget deficit. The new schedule represents a 20 percent cut to all services.

.@MaineDOT1 Commissioner Bruce Van Note announces retirement. Van Note will retire Aug. 15 after a career in the transportation industry of over 30 years.

.@Transdev and Mountain Metro Mobility continue partnership in Colorado Springs. The renewed agreement brings expanded services and new technology to the partnership.

The Texas Transportation Commission has awarded $96 million to enhance transit programs serving both rural and urban communities across Texas. The @TxDOT says the recent allocation of funds aims to improve accessibility and expand transit services.

The Chicago Transit Authority announced on Aug. 5 that more than 20 rail stations and bus turnarounds had seen refurbishments this year as part of the agency’s facility improvement program Refresh & Renew.
