@FoxyMarxist what gets me is how much people have just accepted the bourgeois line on covid, wholesale and completely uncritically. for everything else in the world our instinct is to question the ideology around what the bourgeoisie tells us, to separate truth from appearances, but not this

it's "endemic," it's called "endemic" because actually ending it requires end of the profit motive. that means no capitalism at all. that means no more commodity production or alienation or exploitation of person by person or the wage system or anarchy of production

marxists should not be struggling to understand covid-19 is not "endemic" and is rather still a pandemic because capitalists take every crisis and say nothing can be done about it. poverty, nothing can be done about it. homelessness, nothing can be done. pandemic, nothing

The lack of masking/disability praxis in most communist orgs is a part of what drew me away from the PatSoc scum and towards decolonial communism. All struggles are intertwined. I often wonder if these "Marxists" read the same books that I did. COVID is a labour issue.
To the βactualβ communists whose feelings were hurt by my posts, where was all this buzz last year when disabled people were being torn apart by these orgs for demanding inclusion in their spaces? Orgs and people like: β’ ACP β’ PSL β’ DSA β’ Large accounts with β in their

Right now weβre in it but if you were to look back at this era w the benefit of a century it would be CLEAR that the pandemic, just like in 1918, accelerated fascism as it brought eugenicist ideas into the mainstream

I read Engels and the first thing I saw was him talking about air ventilation in the slums of London and crowded unventilated spaces being unhealthy and a structural attack on the working class, explicitly part of class war. And marxists, socialists, communists still wonβt mask

Damn I want a hit of the Trofim Lepenko π«
The weed grown in Stalinβs USSR was the most potent strain ever developed in history. Trofim Lysenko led a team of agronomists to create the most powerful strain in existenceβutilizing the best resources Soviet Science had to offer. Today, this strain is lost to science.

Like wearing a mask and masking in a given setting comes with a lot of the same feelings. Feeling like you have to go out of your way to seem normal and fit in instead of just being accepted how you are in that moment.

One interesting thing I've noticed is I'll make a joke or comment about how it feels to mask as a neurodivergent person and I'll get the reply "Like as in how you wear a mask or the behaviour" and every time I rethink the sentence and it really could be either or.
