Forty years ago today, Sheffield City Council organised a Marx Memorial Lecture to remember the life and works of the great philosopher on the anniversary of his death. We have now obtained a digitised copy of the 1983 lecture, delivered by the incredible Stuart Hall.

Truly inspiring event watching this 1983 Stuart Hall lecture last night. Great initiative from local activists @JoeBrindle_ and @min_esh to revive the archive footage. Lots of practical and theoretical food for thought.

Tickets are now available for a Karl Marx Memorial Lecture screening at a city centre venue in Sheffield, with the screening focussing in on a renowned 1983 talk by famous sociologist Stuart Hall.
This Thursday 30th March at 6pm we will be screening Stuart Hall's 1983 Marx Memorial Lecture, at @UnionStCowork. We also have (free) postcards for all attendees on Thursday, feeling the original @SheffCouncil design from the original lecture. See you there!
